BEHIND READYPLAYERROLL
Joe & Leslie
We’re the husband-and-wife team behind ReadyPlayerRoll—lifelong co-op partners, enthusiastic dice rollers, and firm believers that the best adventures are the ones you share.
Gaming together since we were 16
PLAYER ONE + PLAYER TWO
Where It Started
Our story with games started long before ReadyPlayerRoll ever existed. We met when we were just 16 years old, and gaming quickly became one of those things we always shared.
Through the years, games have been a place for us to hang out, laugh, compete, cooperate, make friends, and occasionally argue over whose fault that last wipe actually was.
For most of that time, our home was online gaming. We spent countless hours together in MMORPGs, looter shooters, RPGs, and co-op games. If there were characters to build, loot to chase, bosses to fight, or a ridiculous adventure waiting, chances are we were interested.
THEN WE FOUND THE TABLE
A New Kind of Adventure
About five years ago, we discovered tabletop roleplaying games—and that opened an entirely new door.
What started as trying something new quickly became one of our favorite hobbies. We fell in love with the freedom of TTRPGs: the storytelling, the characters, the worlds, the improvisation, and especially those completely unexpected moments that nobody at the table could have planned.
Since then, we’ve jumped into Dungeons & Dragons, Daggerheart, Pathfinder 2e, and Starfinder 2e, with plenty more waiting for us to inevitably buy, read, and convince ourselves we definitely have time to play.
SO, WHAT IS READYPLAYERROLL?
Our Little Corner of the Internet
ReadyPlayerRoll is where all of those interests come together. We create and stream actual-play TTRPG campaigns, talk about the games we’re enjoying, experiment with different systems, build ridiculous characters and worlds, and share the hobby that has become such a big part of our lives.
We’re not trying to pretend we’re professional actors or that every session will be a perfectly produced piece of theater. We’re gamers.
We like rolling dice, telling stories, laughing with our friends, making questionable decisions, and seeing what happens next. Sometimes a scene becomes surprisingly emotional. Sometimes an epic plan works perfectly. And sometimes someone makes a decision so spectacularly stupid that the entire table loses it.
Those are usually our favorite moments.
The dice help tell the story. The rules give it structure. The people around the table make it memorable.
OUR TABLE
There’s No One Way to Play
We enjoy the mechanics and strategy, but we’re just as interested in the characters, roleplaying, worldbuilding, and stories that develop naturally around the table.
We like campaigns that can have a serious moment one minute and something completely absurd happen the next. Whether we’re exploring an established universe or building something from scratch, we want our games to feel like places where the players can leave their mark.
BEYOND THE DICE
More Than TTRPGs
Tabletop games may have become a huge part of ReadyPlayerRoll, but video games are still part of our DNA.
We’re still huge fans of MMORPGs, RPGs, looter shooters, co-op games, and whatever else manages to steal our attention. So while you’ll see plenty of dice rolling around here, don’t be surprised when we dive into an MMO or disappear down another gaming rabbit hole.
